A prior authorization is when your doctor needs to ask us to approve a service before you receive it. Your provider will work with us to get the authorization you need. Please refer to the Prior Authorization page for more information.

Referrals
You may need to visit a specialist or another provider for care or services your primary care provider can’t give you. You don’t need a referral from your primary care provider to get care from other providers in our plan.
This includes behavioral health services, OB/GYN care, and family planning. It’s a good idea to talk to your main doctor first about other types of care you may need. He or she can tell you about other providers in our plan and help you find the care that’s right for you

Do you have an emergency?
In case of emergency call 911 or go to the closest emergency room. After treatment, call your Primary Care Provider within 24 hours or as soon as possible.
When people who are not in serious danger go to an emergency room, they often have to wait a long time for treatment. In most cases they can get the treatment they need more quickly at their doctor’s office or at one of El Paso Health’s Night Clinics or call us at 915-532-3778 or toll-free 1-877-532-3778.

El Paso Health has established and conducts quarterly Member Advisory Group meetings. El Paso Health invites Members to attend and provide feedback and suggestions regarding the services provided by El Paso Health.
